INTRODUCTION

On behalf of the organizing committee, I would like to inform you and invite you to participate in the 2016 EAAM SYMPOSIUM (European Association for Aquatic Mammals),  which will be held between March 8-11 in Genoa, Italy, at the Acquario di Genova. The purpose of the meeting is to share protocols and research activities concerning the management and protection of aquatic mammals, among specialists.

CALL FOR SPONSORS

Different categories of sponsors are most welcome to contribute to meeting costs. Sponsors are identified among designers, engineers or architects, manufacturers and/or suppliers of equipment to public aquaria and zoos, and other relevant companies, including private donors. Unapproved sponsors will not be allowed to advertise or distribute material during the meeting.

 

1. 600* | sponsor will receive

a. written acknowledgement in the Meeting Program

b. logo/name recognition on our general  Sponsor Board displayed during the meeting

c. will be allowed to place one brochure/advertisement item in the conference packet. (Sponsors will be responsible for

shipment/delivery of items to the sponsorship coordinator).

 

2. 1.200* | sponsor will receive

a. same as “category 1” sponsor

b. 5 minutes presentation during the plenary session

 

3. 1800* sponsor will receive

a. same as “category 1” and “2” sponsor

b. will be given one exhibition space with one table (120X80 cm) the Vendor Exhibition Area to display their products and services information during the meeting. Space is limited to 10 sponsors. Sponsors interested in an exhibition space are urged to contact the sponsorship coordinator as soon as possible.

Exhibition space includes electricity (220 V) and spotlights. It does not include ID signs.

Sponsors will be responsible for setting up and taking down displayed materials. Contact the Sponsorship Coordinator for further details.

 

4. special sponsors

Parties interested in sponsoring an entire day of presentations, dinners or the gadgets should contact the Sponsorship Coordinator.

 

*The fee includes all the meals (lunches and coffee breaks) for 1 person. The  gala dinner is not included and the cost for the meals (excluding gala dinner) for accompanying persons is  € 160 per person

 

 OPPORTUNITY

Manufacturers and designers in the industry are reminded that the EAAM Symposium is attended by individuals with influence

and/or responsibility in the development and improvement of their institutions; and are primarily Manager, Director and Curator level individuals.

This is a one-of-a-kind opportunity to meet and develop relationships with aquariums, zoos and aquatic parks representatives with purchasing and/or decision-making authority and influence.

Best Training Presentation Award

The Training Committee of the EAAM is pleased to announce that the “BEST TRAINING PRESENTATION AWARD”
sponsored by Zoomarine Italy, L´Oceanogràfic, and Zoo D’Amnéville,
went to:

The awarded received a trophy, and all the fees for the Annual Symposium 2017, which will be hosted by Genova Aquarium (Italy), covered by the Training Committe of the EAAM.

 

Training Round Tables EAAM 2016

The Training Committee of the EAAM is hosting during the Annual Symposium in Benidorm a session of Round Tables. The topics have been selected from a big amount of suggestions coming from trainers all around Europe. These are the topics that will be discussed:

  • How to deal with regurgitation problem. (directed by Pablo Joury)
  • Calves management (directed by Paola Caballero)
  • Communication with public and staff (directed by Angelo Henriques)
  • Evolution and vision of shows nowadays (directed by Lyndsay Rubincam)

Call for Papers

The European Association for Aquatic Mammals invites authors to submit abstracts for oral, poster and short talk presentations for its upcoming Annual Symposium, which is due to take place in Mundomar Benidorm from 11st to the 14th of March 2016.

Submit your abstract following the instructions in THIS FORM.

IMPORTANT DEADLINES:

  • Abstract Submission Deadline: 10th January 2016 (Extended!)
  • Pre-registration for the first author: 31st January 2016.

EAAM 2016 – Benidorm – Students Grant

As an association EAAM is seeking to encourage student participation to the Annual Symposium

  • EAAM will pay for 6 student’s registration and 150€ for accommodation expenses. General other expenses will be paid by themselves.
  • Student’s Abstracts will just be accepted as candidates for the grant if accompanied by a University and/or professors letter. This is mandatory!
  • PhD students just will be considered for the grant if it is proved that there is no other major subsistence money source more than the PhD grant.
  • If these two items do not arrive before the deadline; the Abstract can be considered for approval, but it is excluded from Grant & Prize.
  • Awarded students will be reimbursed for the conference fee payment after the
  • Last minute cancellations will not be replaced.
  • Prize 500€ for best oral and best poster presentations will remain for students.

EAAM Board September 2013

Annual Research Symposia

The EAAM hosts an annual research symposium to share information about the results of scientific studies, advancements in management or veterinary care, and other developments relevant to marine mammal professionals from around the world.  The symposium combines lectures from guest speakers with oral and poster presentations, and technical workshops aimed at reinforcing direct cooperation in all fields of marine mammal science.  Symposiums are open to all interested persons and take place in March of each year.

Symposia Archive

The Annual Symposia are held at different sites around Europe. The 2016 symposium was held in Mundomar, Benidorm, Spain, and next year the conference will be held in Genova, Italy. Hosted by Genova Aquarium, the 2017 conference will take place in March. Further information will be available later this year.
